embezzlement society takes us back to the early days of 80s hip-hop with his ‘rough quarters ep. on his record the man from belfast heavily relies on funk-based drum loops as were popular in the glorious days of old school hip-hop. the results are two super casual tracks with a cool hip-house attitude just perfect for hip-house lover drei farben house who took the chance to contribute a remix in his slick and smooth style, merging the raw drums with some tender rhodes. tenderpark regular roman rauch finishes off the ep and slows down the tempo in his remix concentrating on the originals of the samples and displaying his mastery with the mpc once more. as always all tracks have been mastered and cut by helmut erler at dubplates & mastering.

vinyl only! drei farben house macht den aufschlag für tenderpark 001. wer bei den strings auf off white an mark kinchen denkt, liegt sicher nicht ganz falsch. ansonsten regiert eine formale strenge mit dezidiert angeschlagenen chords, die ihre wurzeln im house dennoch jederzeit fühlbar machen. petit standard ist wunderbar fuffiger, aber dennoch knackiger house, für den unser mastering engineer helmut erler den begriff soul-house angebracht fand. wir würden ihm da keinesfalls widersprechen. ein gelungener auftakt für tenderpark

polytone remains in deep territories and has signed two of the most exciting tracks of drei farben house (brut!) so far. on final call the berlin resident succeeds in building a bridge between minimal aesthetics and the musicality of deep house which has rarely been heard in this form. in this 8-minute track a whole series of musical themes are flashing yet held together by a lot of instinctive feeling. on looking back to control drei farben house is just as deep and melodically interesting and again relies on unusual track structures. in his remix matthias vogt from motorcitysoul works out the chords and melody themes of the original even more and turns final call into an exciting, swelling affair whereas newcomer baldo (dubhe) transforms the original track into a brilliant and wonderfully classic piece of dubtechno.
